Ethics Audit: New York City Police Department
This paper conducts an ethics audit of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), one of the largest and oldest municipal police departments in the United States. The paper starts with an overview of the history and structure of the NYPD. It then discusses the organization’s ethics management infrastructure and significant cases of ethical misconduct. The Knapp Commission, the Mollen Commission, and the death of Eric Garner are all reviewed in detail. Finally, the paper concludes with two recommendations for improving ethical behavior within the NYPD: organizational culture change efforts and implementation of high-road compliance strategies that emphasize the proper behavior to avoid ethical misconduct.

Organization Research Design Proposal: Election Administrator Attitudes Towards Technology
This paper is a proposal for a research study to examine election administrator attitudes towards modern technology. Research has shown that modern technology presents several challenges to election administration. The proposed study would examine how these challenges affect local election administrators’ attitudes towards the use of modern technology in election administration. The proposal begins with an overview of the purpose of the study, and then reviews the literature related to organizational change in the public sector and challenges posed by modern technology to election administration. The proposed research design and methods are then discussed. Finally, the proposal concludes with a discussion of expectations for the research results, potential implications of the project, and directions for future research.
